To start. . .
My oldest child decided to start his day at 4:30 am.My two other children, decided 6:00 am was a good time to get up.
My children went to bed at 9:30 pm.
That's 17 hours for one child.
Fifteen and a half hours with all three children awake.
No one consulted their mother.
Catching up with Friends and Snow
Weather forecast: Sunny and Cold.
Actual Weather: Sunny and Cold followed by Overcast and Cold followed by Snow? and Cold
We were catching up with some friends while waiting on some wonderful food when snow started falling.
We live in the south.
Snow does not fall.
Mind you, last week they called for a HUGE winter storm. It rained.
Today they called for Sunny Skies. It snowed.
Although it wasn't cold enough for anything to stick and it only snowed on and off for brief moments, the kids (and adults) enjoyed the rare moment.
Everyone had to say at least once, "Is it snowing?"
Facebook feeds filled up quickly with remarks of amazement over the few flakes falling from the sky because we live in the south. . . and snow is always big news.
Snow included, Saturday was a nice day. Sometimes, it's nice to be able to just sit around and talk, enjoy the company of others, watch children play, encourage little boys with way too much energy to run through the woods with the dogs, and to just be.
The dogs are worn out. The boys never slowed down.
To be young and free. To run wide open. To not run out of energy. I don't remember and get exhausted thinking about these things. Does this mean we are getting old?
Jennifer and I will stick with the gator.
